“Cutting The Tension”

2016 | 9”x12” | Mixed-media:
Prismacolor Verithin red/blue colored pencil, Derwent Inktense pencils, white charcoal, and water brush on cold press watercolor paper.

“One for sorrow,
Two for joy,
Three for girl,
Four for a boy,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven is a story
never to be told…”

“CUTTING THE TENSION” is a piece that is still very difficult for me to discuss openly. As a reflection of some of my most difficult and lowest places, looking at it now shows me just how far I have come from where I have been.

This piece was created for the PATTERNS OF DISORDER art salon hosted by Menagerie Sacramento and Retrograde Art Collective at Outlet Coworking and The Red Museum Sacramento (January 2017).
