“CUT OFF” tells the story of a discarded relationship. The blind satyr—normally a symbol of lust and carnal pleasure—dangles the masked girl above the deepening chasm. As she clings to the bond between them, she sees the path it has woven, represented in tangles and pinned by the arrow of love to the rooted tree. “How did it come to this?” she wonders as she helplessly awaits her fate. And why does it seem so easy for some to abandon while not for others?
